Selective forwarding attacks may corrupt the transfer of data for both sensitive and non-sensitive applications. In selective forwarding attacks, malicious nodes behave like normal nodes and selectively drop packets. The selection of dropping nodes may be random. Identifying such attacks is very difficult and sometimes impossible. In this research we studied two problems. First, we designed a simulated environment with n nodes placed randomly to observe the disconnected nodes using algorithm-H; the disconnected nodes may hinder the transfer of data. Secondly, properly connected nodes were tested with packet transfer from source node to the destination node (base station). The algorithm-F detects the random dropping of nodes as part of the forward approach.
