A lead-compensated thermistor probe
A M Jessop · Journal of Scientific Instruments · 1964
A thermistor probe containing two relays has been built for measuring temperatures in deep boreholes. The relays provide switches between two thermistors, an open circuited cable and a short-circuited cable, and enable corrections to be made for cable characteristics. The probe was originally built for use with an old cable having very poor insulation, but can now be used to relax the requirements of new cables for borehole measurements.
