Coming to Our Senses: Multi‐modal User Interfaces
Douglas Talbott · Design Management Journal (Former Series) · 1997
INTERACTIVE TECHNOLOGIES can handle growing amounts of information and manipulate it in ever more sophisticated ways. To exploit these advances, however, the interface between user and technology must be more fully integrated with human interaction. Describing a future in which sound and touch, as well as 3‐D visuals, might contribute to a network model, Doug Talbott presents a design framework that can help manage the complexity of multimodal interfaces.
