Systematic approach for image partitioning and shuffling

Yas A. Alsultanny · Journal of Discrete Mathematical Sciences and Cryptography · 2007

A new algorithm is developed for image encryption by using the CBC (Code Block Chaining) mode. The algorithm depends on the secrete key that is generated from the image, permutation and encryption process are used in the algorithm. The algorithm examined by partitioning the images to blocks 4*4 pixels and 8*8 pixels, and can be used to any other block size of partitioning. The results showed that as the number of partitions increased the level of image encryption is increased. The similarity and correlation are used to measure the degree of encryption compared with the original image.
