An interactive imaging environment for scientific visualization and quantification (visiometrics)
Akos Feher, Norman J. Zabusky · International Journal of Imaging Systems and Technology · 1996
A major goal of scientific visualization and quantification is to extract and track characteristic features from huge masses of measured or simulated data. Facile interactive imaging tools aid in identifying proper imaging parameters and discovering coherent structures and correlations. We believe that the scientist is an essential part of the interactive loop when dealing with data from complex situations. An interactive human supervised environment requires very fast, real-time imaging algorithms. We introduce recent interactive imaging algorithms that enhance our DAVID scientific visualization and quantification or “visiometric” environment. © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
