On the Homogenization of Dense Planar Arrays of Scatterers

Homogenization of thin composite layers (single-layer arrays of small scatterers) is considered. A simple approximation valid for high density of complex-shaped inclusions is proposed. The physics of the approximation is discussed on the base of an example of grids of parallel conducting wires.
