Over the past two decades, IEEE Technology and Society Magazine (T&S) has garnered more than a dozen awards for editorial excellence, often partly in recognition of achieving its stated purpose. These are straightforward aims. Yet some of the publications' early years, were not so straightforward, and rather were filled with considerable ferment. Today T&S Magazine has attained significant status as a respected, prestigious archival journal
