The responsibility for professionally developing the Data Processor can be attributed not only to the organization for which the computing specialist works but also to our educational systems, the aspiring DP professional himself, and to society. This paper will explore the employer's responsibility in developing the computing professional and, in particular, the steps that the National Bank of Detroit has taken in this direction.
