Work in Progress: CHC60 - an International Computer Science History Competition
Alan Clements · 2006
The year 2006, is the 60th anniversary of the world's oldest professional computer organization, the IEEE Computer Society. I have been asked to devise a competition for undergraduate students to celebrate the society's anniversary. This work in progress describes how the competition has been set up and what it is intended to achieve. Teams of students have been given five months to create a Web site illustrating a theme in the history of computing. Students may select any topic; however, they have been told that ingenuity and originality will be strongly rewarded. The proposed competition will take the form of a Web-based competition that stresses a range of academic skills, personal skills, and a multidisciplinary approach to problem solving
