Ada-based support for abstraction, encapsulation and unit hierarchy

Liang Xian-zhong, Zhenyu Wang · 1991

Ada packagea do have some features suitable for object-oriented development methodology such as abstraction, encapsulation, and limited polymorphism in the form of operator overloading, though Ada is not an object-oriented language. An object-oriented viewpoint is cmcial for effective use of Ada's module facilities. This paper.based upon the features of the abstract data type, presents a set of techniques including + kiwis of abstract%u, their Utredeod emcupsskth to represent classes of V.object/ U.object, and sub unit to construct unit hierarchies, which aims at more precise and direct support for full object-oriented phikxwphy. The paper, with Ada-based examples given.also provides a basis of the techniques applied to object-oriented development
