An inverse field of values problem

Frank Uhlig · Inverse Problems · 2008

For a given complex matrix A we use methods of geometric computing to find complex unit vectors that map to a given point p inside the field of values of A. This is an inverse problem for the quadratic field of values map We describe and test an algorithm and include computed examples, as well as related questions on the geometric generation of points in the field of values, i.e., on the inner geometry of the field of values.
