User-Developed Applications: What Are They Doing?

It is becoming increasingly apparent that end users can design and develop their own applications. What is not always apparent, however, is how MIS can best support end-user computing. In this article, the author investigates the scope of end-user applications based on an end-user survey and suggests solutions to the problem of MIS support.
