D IFFERENCES OF OPINION are what make markets, but the analyst is constantly endeavoring to reduce the area of mere opinion by the substitution of fact. However, there will always be plenty of room for the speculator to operate. Many considerations, both quantitative and qualitative enter into an investor's evaluation of a security, but often a few outstanding factors overshadow all the others. If these can be isolated, the investor may be able to arrive at an approximate range within which the true value may be.
