A genetic algorithm approach to high-level synthesis of digital circuits

A genetic algorithm based approach to high-level synthesis of digital circuits is reported in this paper. A solution representation is selected that allows different operator types to have different time spans. The different genetic operators are designed based on the solution representation. The results obtained on the few available benchmarks compare favourably with reported results.
