Hypergraphs as algebraic structures

In the last decade, hypergraphs have been intensively used in problems of electrical engineering and network design, multi-index transport problems, computer simulation of complex dynamical systems, representation of complex control systems in manufacturing, and other science applications. Some (for example, multi-index transport) problems are best treated using k -complexes (a special class of hypergraphs in which each edge is incident upon exactly k vertices). The class of extreme 2-complexes is considered. Also, this class is represented as a distributive lattice.
