An alternative proof that Bing’s dogbone space is not topologically 𝐸³

Introduction.R. H. Bing in [7] presented an example of an upper semicontinuous decomposition of E3 into points and tame arcs, Bing's dogbone space, that is not topologically E3.In this paper, a decomposition space resulting from a simpler construction than that of Bing's dogbone space will be proven to be topologically different from E3 and the argument may be easily modified to apply to Bing's dogbone space. This paper and [3] are from the author's doctoral dissertation.
