Research on an Improved Mean shift Algorithm

With the rapid growth of China's transportation, traffic accidents were in a growing trend year by year, and the tracking of hit-and-run vehicles had caught the hotspot of people concern. Therefore, how to reduce the road traffic accidents and improve traffic safety level had become important issues that need to be resolved. This paper whose research objects are hit-and-run vehicles is based on the intelligent traffic accident treatment system. After researching the application of Mean shift and Kalman filter in the field of target tracking, this paper presented an effective tracking method which combined Mean shift and Kalman filter algorithm to improve the accuracy and robustness in occlusion.
