Development and delivery of a computer security strategy for a community of end users
Allan R. Jones · 1992
The great increase in personal computing and information access has generated much discussion and debate on the issue of the ethical use of these tools on our campuses. As the technological resources gain widespread use, we find ourselves in the role ofpolicy makers and enforcers. However, the acceptable and ethical use of these resources is only one of the key factors in computing in the 90's.The establishment of a secure computing environment, or rather, the lack of a secure environment, is another element in the discussion of the ethical uses of technology. While proper ethical use alone is a controversial topic that can involve many different opinions and discussions, the very real and tangible issue of computer security is the focus of this paper.
