Generalized theory of a pulse-width modulated d.c. voltage regulator. I. Performance analysis

K. C. MAHAPATRA · International Journal of Electronics · 1974

In this paper equations for the stabilization ratio and the output resistance of a pulse-width modulated d.c. voltage regulator of generalized type employing feedbacks from input voltage, output voltage and load current to control the ON and OFF periods of the switching element are developed in terms of six basic regulator coefficients and the duty ratio. The variation of the stabilization ratio and the output resistance with these coefficients for different values of duty ratio is analysed and discussed. The computational values are shown to be in good agreement with the experimental results.
