Multi-ported PCI-to-PCI bridge chip

Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) bus is the de-facto standard in all high performance systems requiring high amount of input/output (I/O) data transfer. Peripheral-intensive systems like servers, workstations, network switches and routers need more than four PCI slots. Such systems require one or more PCI-to-PCI bridges. Typically each PCI-to-PCI bridge provides an additional PCI bus. Multi-ported PCI-to-PCI bridges, like Pericom's PI7C7002, provide more than one additional PCI bus in a system resulting in enhanced system performance. Pericom's chip isolates traffic between primary and secondary buses using enhanced queuing techniques.
