A portable compiler writing system

This thesis describes a unified system with which portable compilers may be produced. Both the compilers produced with the system and the system itself are portable. The system achieves this through information hiding and automatic code generator generation. Compilers written using the system contain two parts which communicate through two sets of abstract data types, with one set contained within each part of the compiler.
