Adaptive time-varying beamforming for source localization and tracking in nonstationary environment

The proposed beamformer in two aspects is different from the conventional one. The weights are dependent on time and two parameters /spl theta/ and /spl theta/'. Maximization of the beamformer power on /spl theta/ and /spl theta/' gives estimates of direction-of arrival (DOA) and its first derivative. Simulation confirms an improved tracking ability of the new algorithm.
