In the next five years, advances in technology will create a world in which objects can sense, reason, communicate and act; where for every physical entity or event, there will be a virtual collaborating double. In this world, the time between stimulus and response will approach zero and optimization will become very fine-grained. In this world, the marketplace will reward enterprises who harness the real-time economy and who garner and preserve the trust of their customers and business partners.
