On the use of the information on individual speaker's position in the parameter space for speaker recognition

H. Noda · International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing · 2003

The author defines the distinctiveness of an utterance as the distance from a typical utterance. The use of this information has been found to allow speaker recognition to be performed with speaker-dependent accuracy. A significant performance difference that depends on the magnitude of the distinctiveness has been found both in speaker identification and in speaker verification.>
