Flexibility hirarchy in FMS: Concepts and Petri nets evaluation

This paper discusses the multidimensional character of flexibility suggesting several major flexibility types which have to cope with changes occurring at different time horizons. The paper further describes a Petri nets modelling approach to its evaluation. Failures and change-over interruptions representing changes that the system has to cope with, are illustrated through Petri nets modular structures.
