Design of a t-fault TDA-diagnosable multiprocessor system

Algorithms are defined for the design of a t-fault TDA-diagnosable multiprocessor system. Such a system is tolerant to a maximum of t faulty processors, and these t faults can be correctly and automatically diagnosed by a hardware device called a testable diagnosis array (TDA). This TDA is a simple cellular array built of combinational logic. This setup provides the system with a capability to carry out self-diagnosis, and possible reconfiguration afterwards, in a noncomplex manner. It is noted that the proposed algorithms can be easily incorporated into the front end of an automated design tool for a general multiprocessor system. An example of the proposed approach is given.>
