An Image Identification Method based on the Radon Transform

In this paper, we propose an image identification method using the Radon transform known as a powerful tool for characterizing images. We have applied the Radon transform to achieve similar patterns in the case that images are originally identical. Normalization of the string of numbers yields a norm vector as an image identification descriptor to determine the similarities. Our method is a computationally very simple approach to create an image identification descriptor. It focuses on the reduction of processing time in the descriptor extraction and comparison. The performance of this method is confirmed by excellent matching results and speed-up in images comparison.
