The development of the RDS system from a European point of view and the possibilities for distributing traffic messages with RDS
Dietmar Kopitz · 1988
The author considers the radio data system (RDS) as an international standard, and reviews the ways in which various countries are implementing it, including West Germany, France, and the United Kingdom. The problem of the restricted data transmission capacity is discussed, and the application of RDS to the distribution of traffic messages is explained.
