Spatial variability analysis of ECG mapping: a shape approach

Balkine Khaddoumi, Olivier Meste, Hervé Rix · 2004

The spatial distribution of the cardiac electric activity, recorded on the surface of the body is more and more investigated in medicine. Indeed it provides us a global view of the electrophysiological phenomena occurring in the heart. In this paper we use a 64 channel ECG recordings to analyse the variability of the T-wave shape. To perform this task new methods of comparison are applied, the distribution function method (DFM) and the integrated shape averaging (ISA). The latest takes into account the definition of shape equality where signals are related by time scaling factors and delays. The main property of this method is to produce an "average signal" which respects the shape equality principle. The given approach shows their capabilities, when analysing electrophysiological signals, on the application described above.
