An overview of logarithm-based image processing techniques for biomedical applications
L.W. Cahill, Guang Yi Deng · 2002
Logarithm-based image processing methods are of interest since they have the capability to enhance low-contrast images. This paper presents an overview of the three logarithm-based image processing techniques: the multiplicative homomorphic system (MHS), the log-ratio (LR) and the logarithmic image processing model (LIP). They are compared from physical, computational, and application point of views.
