Wideband speech coding on the basis of multirate filterbank trees
Ralf Th. Pietsch, Arild Lacroix · 2002
For wideband speech coding in telecommunications a quadrature mirror filter (QMF) bank with recursive filters is used. Phase distortions are minimized by structural means and by compensation. A considerable data rate reduction is achieved based if psychoacoustical masking effects are exploited.
