Effective Project Planning Techniques

Setting tabular and graphic standards for the presentation, storage and handling of project-related data from the start can make the job of managing, scheduling and documenting a project much easier. Standards make sure that everyone is using the same playbook, and often eliminate potentially costly assumptions that project participants can make regarding what data is required and in what format. Many specifications call for adopting a standardized approach; even a few basic guidelines and required data sets can go a long way. Using elements such as carefully chosen data sets, templates and thorough documentation of the changes as they occur, aids in the completion of a successful project plan and can save everyone time and money by preventing crises on the job.
