A. Kittel, J. Gudur, S. Gundlapudi, A. Lederman · 2002
This paper describes GTE's experiences and lessons learned in overcoming the technical obstacles encountered while massively expanding its foothold in the broadband communications market. It addresses architectures for integrating off-the-shelf operations support systems (OSS) into a tightly knit, highly automated systems fabric. Interconnection gateways based on the CORBA industry standard became a key enabling technology. They enabled end-to-end automation of business processes across multiple systems.
