Radio frequency tags are a new means of identification and coding used in industrial or security applications. The architecture of a portable terminal for communication with read/erase/write tag is explained in the present paper. This terminal is based on a Xilinx FPGA circuit which gives versatility to the product. The advantages offered by Xilinx FPGAs are explained.>
