The consumer market for mobile communication services, such as automobile cellular phones, other portable cellular phones, and radio paging services, has grown significantly. NTT DoCoMo (NTT Mobile Communications Network, Inc.) is now facing competition from the NCCs (New Common Carriers) in mobile communication services. In order to improve customer services and enhance competitiveness, it is necessary to better manage self-administered network operations. The Mobile Communications Integrated Operation System (MIOS) is a newly developed system designed to deal with the current situation in the consumer market. The administrative goals are to achieve the highest possible efficiency and cost-effectiveness and to create network operations tasks which fulfill customer service needs.
