Views of creativity reflect the times: the lone inventor inspired late in the night has been eclipsed by a view of the creative act as a social one, made by teams of closely knit people. Art schools and design studios are social places: so are engineering institutes and research laboratories. The view, then, has moved from individual to group, and the groups are seen as
