Together with the enormous growth of Web services popularity and their emergence on the e-market, there appears a problem of comparison and competition between them. The latter can be possible only when the proper description of services is available. Such a description should consist of both functional and nonfunctional parameters, so that it would allow not only for comparison but also for automatic selection and discovery of services. Although all accord with the fact that such a description is necessary, there is no common agreement on how it should look like. One of the possible representations of Web services description is a service profile. The main goal of the article is to provide a survey of quality of services computation for Web service profiling needs. In the article the idea of service profile is presented together with the quality of service concept and its significance for the service description. The paper presents also a novel approach of services comparison based on multiple criteria analysis, which takes into account the service attributes, the service profile is comprised of.
