Avoiding Errors in Clinical Prediction

Social work practitioners often are required to make clinical predictions about their clients' behavior. Although errors in prediction can sometimes have significant consequences, this process has been little studied in the social work literature. This article draws on the current literature on clinical prediction to examine prediction errors in social work and suggests some steps that can be taken to improve the accuracy of the prediction process.
