A multi-media network architecture for ISDN and beyond
J. Terry · 2003
The author discusses an evolution and growth in structure of telecommunications networks to provide enhanced services and permit potential simplification of network operation and management. The approach he suggests offers numbering flexibility/portability, unrestricted network dimensioning and provides unification of signaling for existing and new applications. Network evolution involves structuring of both physical and logical resources. The addition of a source-routing, flexible, robust connectivity subnetwork is considered to be a key to future service capabilities.>
