Data acquisition and experiment control via CAMAC

The integration of CAMAC into a data acquisition system developed under DOS/BATCH-11 for the Physics Division of Argonne National Laboratory is discussed. The widely varying needs of the physicists and the characteristics of the CAMAC hardware used were the prime design considerations which resulted in a software system employing direct-interrupt vectoring and table-lookup vectoring for CAMAC LAM's, core-resident and dynamically loadable routines, and a general-purpose CAMAC data acquisition routine.
