Special issue on ‘Quantum circuits’

Árpád I. Csurgay, Pier Paolo Civalleri, Wolfgang Porod · International Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications · 2015

A new engineering discipline called ‘quantum technology’ is emerging. Nano-technology and cryo-technology enable engineers to develop superconductive integrated circuits in which quantum phenomena have dominant sway. In quantum circuits, interplay takes place between finite-state quantum devices and photons in cavities. Frequently, two-state quantum devices called ‘artificial atoms’ are realized by Josephson junction diodes, and the electromagnetic field is composed of microwave photons. The area is also called ‘Circuit QED’ because quantum electrodynamics (QED) interaction takes place in circuits. Important applications of Circuit QED are envisaged in quantum information (quantum cryptography and quantum computing) as well as in building analog equivalent circuits of quantum effects in biology (quantum biology). In order to establish tools for modeling, simulation, and design of integrated quantum circuits, assistance of circuit theory is badly needed. Prospective authors should follow the submission guidelines for International Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications (IJCTA). All manuscripts must be submitted electronically to the manuscript central web site at https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/ijcta. Indicate that you are submitting your article to the special issue on ‘Quantum Circuits’. All articles will undergo the standard IJCTA review process. Submitted manuscripts must not have been previously published or currently submitted for publication elsewhere. Please visit IJCTA website for detailed author guidelines.
