Moving toward arbitrary interoperability

Matthew Morris · Journal of computing sciences in colleges · 2012

Our lives are filled with a variety of discrete, incompatible computation systems. Gaps between various specific systems are being filled to meet particular needs, but this does not approach the flexibility offered us by informal languages. Human language allows us to span potentially infinite layers of abstraction by specification of context and language extensibility. This presentation seeks to explore possible convergence of technologies toward a standard allowing interoperability between systems of arbitrary type.
