Low-Cost Microcomputer Networking: Some Practical Considerations
Craig A. Bergman · 2005
The perceived need to network office computers is often overstated. Evaluation of needs and device characteristics often leads to a simpler, lower cost solution. Frequently, needs are satisfied by the low-cost networks or even manual processes. The reasons for networking are discussed and analyzed in terms of some practical constraints. The characteristics and capabilities of the low-cost networks are described and a decision guide is presented.
