Skeleton extraction in seal identification system using morphology

Seal identification is a typical application of pattern recognition and the skeleton of the words is usually a key feature. In this paper, a method to extract the skeleton using a mathematical approach is proposed. The results are encouraging, and the method has been used in a real seal identification system.
