The convergence behavior of symmetric weighted median filters

In this paper, we will investigate the convergence behaviors of a class of mixed stack filters - symmetric weighted median filters. Some symmetric weighted median filters will be shown to possess the convergence property by an explicit method. However, not all symmetric WMFs possess the convergence property. This will be specified by some significant properties and counter example.
