this paper, we would like to disagree with this "evolutionary" view. Not that we do not consider Web Services as the "next step" in what has been the "evolution" of the Software Engineering, but that this step is not itself an "evolution" of existing concepts and techniques. We believe that the move from object to service oriented systems is a true shift of paradigms, one that should be fully, and formally, characterised so that both methodologies and supporting technologies can be developed to take maximum profit of its potential
