Using logical views and dialogue to answer locally-expressed distributed queries

It is often desirable to consolidate related information stored across multiple databases by querying all of them at once. However, these databases are often designed by different people, who have different conceptualizations of the domain in question, and may use different terminology. These disparities cause semantic heterogeneity, which occurs as the use of incongruent usage of syntax to denote meaning (semantics) across databases.
