This paper describes a device for recording the peak intensities in a mass spectrum, which employs a peak-holding regulator, which can record a single peak or a group with automatic adjustment to the maximum, while the complete mass spectrum can be recorded with the sweep halted at levels corresponding to ion-current peaks. The signal recording range is 1 mV to 10 V. The time taken to attain a maximum in the ion current is less than or equal to 50 msec for deviations of less than or equal to 10% in level. The error in intensity measurement is less than or equal to 0.2%.
