On adaptive arrays in mobile communication
S. Sivanand · 2002
The author studies the use of adaptive arrays in mobile communication for increasing channel capacity as well as reducing co-channel interference. Antenna arrays may be used at the base station and/or at the mobile unit. A mathematical model for the received signal is presented and discussed in the context of frequency division multiple access (FDMA), time division multiple access (TDMA) and code division multiple access (CDMA). It is shown from the carrier-to-interference and noise ratio (CINR) for a single- and an array-antenna that the latter results in reduced co-channel interference.>
