Semantic Query Optimization: from DBMS to KBS.

Although in the context of databases, the problem of semantic query optimization is well defined and many solutions has been proposed, this is not the case for knowledge base systems. Our goal in this paper is to present a new method of semantic query optimization for knowledge base systems which provide an integration of concepts from object oriented representations, deductive databases and temporal knowledge.
